Financial Privacy Notice

Please read this notice carefully so that you fully understand how Sky FCU collects, shares, and protects your personal information.  For more on this subject, view the Federal Trade Commission’s publication entitled “Privacy Choices for Your Personal Financial Information.”

 

Mobile Subscriber Information

Your Mobile Information will NEVER be shared with other parties under any circumstances. This includes no sharing with third parties, affiliates, or for marketing or promotional purposes.  

Text Banking Agreement: Texting is a service provided by Sky Federal Credit Union.  The terms "we", "us" or "our" below mean the credit union.  The terms "you" or "your" mean the member who uses this service.

By providing your cell phone number, you have provided us with consent to send you text messages in conjunction with the services you have requested using the Texting, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • In order to utilize Text, you must have at least one Sky Federal Credit Union account and enroll within your digital banking access. To apply for Text, you must be the sole or joint owner of the account(s) for which Text services apply and you must have full signing authority on the accounts.  If there is any change of ownership of any such account(s), notification must be immediately provided to Sky Federal Credit Union.
  • It is your sole responsibility to ensure your device(s) are compatible with and capable of operating in a manner that allows you to utilize Text securely, including, but not limited to, installing current software manufacturer provided patches and current anti-virus/anti-spyware software.  
  • You understand and agree that any Text transaction request which results in a negative account balance may be refused by Sky Federal Credit Union.
  • We may send any Text message through your communication service provider in order to deliver them to you. You agree that your communication services provider is acting as your agent in this capacity.
  • You agree to provide a valid phone number for this service so that we may send you certain information about your applicable account.  We will determine in our sole discretion what information we make available through this service.
  • You agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, liability, cost and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your provision of a phone number that is not your own or your violation of applicable federal, state or local law, regulation or ordinance. Your obligation under this paragraph shall survive termination of the Agreement.
  • Texting is provided for your convenience and does not replace your monthly account statement(s), which are the official record of your accounts.
  • This service may not be encrypted and may include personal or confidential information about you, such as your account activity or status. You understand the text messages we send may be seen by anyone with access to your phone.  Accordingly, you should take steps to safeguard your phone and your text messages if you want them to remain private.  You agree to protect your communications device that receives information through this service and not to let any unauthorized person have access to the information we provide to you through this service. You have the sole responsibility for maintaining the safety, security and integrity of the Mobile Device you will use to send and receive TEXT messages. You shall bear the entire risk for any use thereof, whether or not you have authorized such use and whether or not you are negligent. If you permit other persons to use the Mobile Device, you will be held responsible for any transactions they authorize and we will not be liable for any damages resulting to you. You agree not to use Text or the content or information delivered through Text in any way that would be considered illegal.
  • Receipt of account information through Text may be delayed or impacted by factor(s) pertaining to your phone carrier or other parties.
  • We will not be liable for losses or damages caused in whole or in part by your actions or omissions that result in any disclosure of account information to third parties. Also, nothing about Text creates any new or different liability for us beyond what is already applicable under your existing account agreements.
  • There is no separate fee for this service but you are responsible for any and all charges, including, but not limited to, fees otherwise applicable to your account(s) and fees associated with TEXT messaging imposed by your communications service provider. Message and data rates may apply.  Such charges may include those from your communications service provider.  Message frequency depends on user preferences.
  • If we modify this Text Message Policy, we will notify you by sending you a text message with a link to the new policy.  We may terminate our text message program at any time.
  • If you have any questions about this policy, would like us to mail you a paper copy of this policy or are having problems receiving or stopping our text messages, please contact us using the following information:  Sky Federal Credit Union, PO Box 1690, Livingston, MT 59047, [email protected], (800) 445-3328.
  • You agree and consent to be contacted by Sky Federal Credit Union, our agents, employees, affiliates, subsequent creditors, loan servicing companies, and third-party collectors through the use of email, and/or telephone calls and/or text messages to your cellular, home or work phone numbers, as well as any other phone number you have provided in conjunction with this account, including the use of automatic telephone dialing systems, auto dialers and an artificial or prerecorded voice.
  • To Opt-out or STOP, this policy applies to the text messages sent by Sky Federal Credit Union to our members while and after they use our product.  If you wish to stop receiving marketing text messages from Sky Federal Credit Union, reply to any text message we have sent you and, in the reply, text simply type STOP.   Your stop request will become effective within one business day.    
  • For Help or Support, if at any time you need our contact information or information on how to stop text messages, reply to any text message we have sent you and, in the reply, text simply type CONTACT for the toll-free phone number.  In general, the messages we send provide you with information about your account.  Some of the text messages we send may include links to websites.  To access these websites, you will need a web browser and internet access.

The terms and conditions above are in addition to, and do not supersede or replace, any other agreements applicable to any of your accounts with us.

TEXT BANKING ENROLLMENT:

Login to your Sky FCU digital banking.  Click on the Tools & Services Tab.  Select Update phone to complete enrollment.

AUTOMATED TEXT BANKING PHONE NUMBER:
Send any of the commands below to 86020. For easier access and added security, please add
this code to your contacts.

TEXT BANKING COMMANDS:

  • BAL – provides balances for all accounts that are enabled for Text Banking
  • COM – provides a list of commands
  • CONTACT – provides the toll-free phone number for Sky
  • HOURS – provides the Contact Center hours
  • HIST– provides account history for the specified account. Example: HIST acct1
  • STOP – stops all further text message communications

For TEXT interactions with specific Sky FCU Representatives, the messages may come from their office phone number.

 

Account Closure/Deletion

For Account closures/app access deletion contact a Sky FCU representative by email at [email protected] or by phone at (800) 445-3328.  Closed subaccounts may remain visible in online/mobile banking for up to 1 month to ensure all transactions can be viewed for balancing up to the next Statement cycle.”

 

Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA)

 The UIGEA, signed into law in 2006, prohibits any person engaged in the business of betting or wagering (as defined in the Act) from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in unlawful Internet gambling.  The Dept. of Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board have issued a joint final rule, Regulation GG, to implement this Act.

As defined in Regulation GG, unlawful Internet gambling means to “place, receive or otherwise knowingly transmit a bet or wager by any means which involves the use, at least in part, of the Internet where such bet or wager is unlawful under any applicable Federal or State Law in the State or Tribal lands in which the bet or wager is initiated, received or otherwise made.”

As a member of Sky Federal Credit Union, these restricted transactions are prohibited from being processed through your account or banking relationship with us.  If you do engage in an Internet gambling business and open a new account with us, we will ask that you provide evidence of your legal capacity to do so.

Funds Availability Policy Disclosure

 The following changes to our Funds Availability Policy are effective May 1, 2020.

  • We reserve the right to hold check funds on any deposit you make. However, we will make the first $225 available to you on the next business day.  This amount has increased from $200.
  • We may delay your ability to withdraw funds deposited by check into your account for various reasons, specifically if you deposit checks totaling more than $5,525.  This amount has increased from $5,000.
